This Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) approved course is a 1-day class designed to improve operation of municipal solid waste transfer stations. Topics include transfer station regulations and inspections, siting and design, equipment and facility maintenance, administrative issues, incoming waste monitoring, and transfer station safety.
 
The Transfer Station rule changes, effective November 14, 2021, require that “Operation and management shall be under the direct supervision and control of an individual that has completed a course or program … that qualifies and individual to manage a transfer station, as approved by the Board.” Per Section 420-3-5-.11(1) the deadline to comply with the new rule is October 1, 2022.
