
AL Certified Transfer Station Operator – ALXFR
This Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) approved, 1-day class is designed to improve operation of municipal solid waste transfer stations. Topics include transfer station regulations and inspections, siting and design, equipment and facility maintenance, administrative issues, incoming waste monitoring, and transfer station safety.
The new Transfer Station rule changes, effective November 14, 2021, require that “Operation and management shall be under the direct supervision and control of an individual that has completed a course or program … that qualifies and individual to manage a transfer station, as approved by the Board.” Per Section 420-3-5-.11(1) the deadline to comply with the new rule is October 1, 2022.
It is very important, upon completion of this course, that you send a copy of your Certificate of Completion to the proper state agency to ensure your records are updated to maintain your certification.
